Hydrating Toner or Essence? Find Your After-Cleansing Step
Explore a featherlight essence, a hydrating mist, and all-in-one moisture pads, with simple guidance for choosing the step your routine needs.

You've cleansed, and now you're looking at a toner, an essence, and a mist. Do you need all of them? Where does each one go?
If your goal is a light layer of hydration after cleansing, our Wild Dew Treatment Essence is a natural place to start. Prefer fewer steps? Lazy Day All-In-One Moisture Pads combine toner, essence, and moisturizer in one format. The useful question is what you want that step to do, not how many bottles belong in a Korean skincare routine.
Choose by purpose before product name
A toner and an essence can occupy a similar place in a routine, but the name alone doesn't explain the formula. Look for the intended benefit: hydration, exfoliation, or another specific concern.
For example, our Wild Dew Treatment Essence focuses on hydration, visible calm, radiance, and more even-looking tone. Our exfoliating option, The Good Acids Pore Toner, contains glycolic and salicylic acids for visible exfoliation and pore refinement. Those are different jobs, even though both products might sit near the beginning of a routine.
If you came here looking for moisture, you don't need to add an exfoliant by default. And if you choose an AHA formula, remember that AHAs can increase sun sensitivity; follow its directions and use sunscreen.
A featherlight layer: Wild Dew Treatment Essence
There's something especially satisfying about a hydrating step that feels light. Wild Dew is a featherlight, fast-absorbing essence that drenches skin with hydration while helping it look calmer and more radiant.
The formula includes multi-weight hyaluronic acid, brightening niacinamide, and calming lotus extract, alongside adenosine and pre/probiotics. You don't have to remember that whole list to understand its place: it's our hydration-focused step between cleansing and serum.
In our four-step Glass Skin routine, use it after Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser and before Glass Skin Refining Serum, then finish with moisturizer. The 100 ml bottle is $39, with a 30 ml travel size at $17.
Wild Dew is worth exploring if you like a distinct, lightweight hydrating layer and want to keep your existing serum and cream. You can build around the products you already enjoy.

When you'd like fewer steps: Lazy Day pads
Some days, simplicity is the whole point. Our Lazy Day All-In-One Moisture Pads combine toner, essence, and moisturizer in pre-soaked, biodegradable pads.
The formula includes ceramides, bamboo extract, multi-weight hyaluronic acid, and a superfood complex featuring spinach, broccoli, carrot, and pomegranate. The appeal is an easy moisture step after cleansing, with several routine roles brought together.
A 60-pad jar is $43; the six-pad format is $6. Follow the pad directions, then consider whether your skin wants anything else. “All-in-one” describes those three moisturizing roles; it doesn't replace cleansing or sun protection.

Prefer a mist?
Our Glass Skin Veil Mist gives you another format to explore. This weightless hydrating mist has cucumber water as its first ingredient, with peach extract, lotus extract, and reishi mushroom to replenish and calm.
You can use it after cleansing and before serum or moisturizer, or over makeup and throughout the day for a refresh. That flexibility is the reason to consider it here. Choose the 40 ml size for $16 or the 100 ml bottle for $31.
Which one sounds like your day?
| Your preference | A format to consider | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| A separate hydration step before serum | Wild Dew Treatment Essence | Featherlight hydration within our four-step routine |
| Combining a few moisture steps | Lazy Day All-In-One Moisture Pads | Toner, essence, and moisturizer in a pad |
| A spray you can also use over makeup | Glass Skin Veil Mist | Hydration in a flexible mist format |
Choose the format that feels most useful and enjoyable. You can give your routine a little extra hydration while keeping it comfortably simple.
For sensitive skin, test a new formula on a small area first. A hydrating description still leaves room for individual responses.
FAQS
Your toner and essence questions
Do I need a toner before Wild Dew Treatment Essence?
Not in our four-step Glass Skin routine. Wild Dew follows cleansing and comes before serum. If you already use another toner, consider whether it has a distinct purpose you want to keep.
Does an essence replace moisturizer?
Wild Dew is the essence step in our routine, followed by serum and moisturizer. Lazy Day All-In-One Moisture Pads are a different format specifically combining toner, essence, and moisturizer.
Can I use a hydrating mist during the day?
Yes. Glass Skin Veil Mist can be used throughout the day and over makeup. Choose it for that convenient refresh; you don't need to restart your whole routine whenever you reach for it.
