How to Choose a Cleansing Oil for Your First Cleanse
Make your evening cleanse feel simpler. Explore Ginger Melt Oil Cleanser, what to look for in a first cleanser, and how it pairs with Power Calm.

At the end of a sunscreen-and-makeup day, taking everything off should feel like a welcome little reset. If your current cleanse leaves you working at stubborn makeup or wishing for a more comfortable finish, an oil cleanser is worth exploring.
Our Ginger Melt Oil Cleanser is made to remove makeup, sunscreen, excess oil, and impurities with a silky feel and no greasy residue. In our double cleanse, it goes first, followed by Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser. Two steps, each with a clear job.
What makes a good first cleanser?
Start with what you need to remove, then consider how you want your skin to feel afterward. A long ingredient list isn't a substitute for a formula that fits your evening.
We'd look at three things:
- Its cleansing role. Choose a product made to remove the makeup and sunscreen you wear. A facial oil and an oil cleanser aren't interchangeable just because both contain oils.
- The feel during use. A texture you enjoy makes this everyday step more inviting. You may prefer a silky liquid to a balm you scoop from a jar.
- The finish. Think about whether you like how your skin feels after rinsing, rather than judging the cleanse by how tight your face feels.
Those are useful questions whether you're new to oil cleansing or reconsidering a product that hasn't quite found its place in your routine.
Meet Ginger Melt
Our Ginger Melt Oil Cleanser has a comforting, silky texture with just-right slip. It helps lift away the day's makeup and sunscreen without leaving a greasy residue, so the cleansing experience feels considered from start to finish.
The formula includes grapeseed oil to help soften skin, sunflower seed oil for a nourished, supple feel, and licorice root for a calming touch. Ginger root supports a bouncier-looking complexion. Each detail belongs to a cleanser whose first responsibility is still wonderfully straightforward: taking the day off.
Ginger Melt is $35 for 150 ml, with a 300 ml size at $49. Choose the size that suits how often you plan to use it; you don't need the largest bottle to find out whether a step feels right for you.

Why follow with a water-based cleanser?
In our double cleanse, Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser follows Ginger Melt to cleanse impurities without stripping. It's a soap-free, water-based gel with a pH of 5.5, plus chamomile, centella asiatica, and multi-weight hyaluronic acid.
That makes it a different step from the oil cleanser, with a focus on a comfortable cleanse. A dime-sized amount is the starting point in our usage guidance. The 100 ml size is $29; there's also a 30 ml travel size at $11 and a 200 ml size at $49.

Keep the evening sequence easy
Begin with Ginger Melt and follow its application and rinsing directions. Then use Power Calm as your second cleanse. You can move on to your usual hydrating steps and moisturizer afterward.
For our Glass Skin routine, Wild Dew Treatment Essence comes after cleansing, followed by Glass Skin Refining Serum and Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream. You can also keep this much simpler if you already have a moisturizer you love. Adding an oil cleanser doesn't commit you to replacing every other product on your shelf.
Test a new cleanser on a small area first, and stop if it causes a reaction.
Match the cleanse to your day
An evening with sunscreen and long-wear makeup may call for a different approach from a quiet morning. Think of double cleansing as an option for what you need to remove, rather than a rule that makes every wash two steps long.
If you enjoy the pairing and want both products together, our Double Cleanse Duo is $59, and the Double Cleanse Travel Duo is $20. If you're only missing the first cleanse, Ginger Melt on its own may be all you're shopping for.
FAQS
Getting comfortable with oil cleansing
Can I consider an oil cleanser if my skin is oily?
Yes, you can consider the cleansing role and finished formula rather than ruling it out because of the word “oil.” Ginger Melt is designed to remove excess oil as well as makeup and sunscreen. Your own skin's response still matters.
Do I need to double cleanse morning and night?
There's no need to turn it into an automatic twice-daily rule. Decide based on what you're removing and how your skin feels. Our two-step pairing is an option for the end of a makeup-and-sunscreen day.
Should I choose a duo or just a cleansing oil?
If you already like your water-based cleanser, begin with the step you're missing. A duo makes sense when you want to try both parts of our double cleanse together.
